Early Learning Centre in Carlingford

Our very first early learning centre, Shine Carlingford, is where it all began. Opening its doors to the local community in October 2007, it is a well-established and much-loved centre catering to children aged six weeks to school age and beyond, with before and after school care on offer.

Recently renovated, the purpose-built centre hosts 5 age-based indoor spaces focussing on natural elements. There is a large, dedicated outdoor play area including beautiful trees, sandpit and delicate motor areas where children have plenty of natural space to explore. Two large undercover play spaces allow the children to engage in physical activity all year round. Ample onsite parking with easy access leads to a large, welcoming entry.

This centre truly encompasses the Shine spirit. To help your child thrive, everything they need is included in the daily fee:

  • Welcome pack including a SunSmart wide-brim hat, gym bag and Shine tee
  • All essentials, including nappies, bed linen, water stations to, sunscreen
  • Nutritional seasonal menu providing meals, snacks and beverages that also cater for special dietary requirements
  • Stimulating outdoor spaces with a focus on nature & sustainability
  • Community engagement activities and excursions

Why Choose Our Childcare Carlingford Centre?

Shine Carlingford is well known in the community, with over a decade of experience in providing high-quality early learning to children. We offer a holistic approach to childcare encompassing each child’s development, health and general wellbeing.

Our spacious open-plan rooms are warm, homely, and designed to encourage children to learn and grow in a secure ‘home away from home’ environment.

Our Childcare centre offers:

  • A well-maintained environment and safe physical setting.
  • Broad learning and development goals are developed for each child, extending beyond early literacy and numeracy skills to include cultural, social, artistic, physical and social goals.
  • Established connections within our community that include extended family members and local organisations and getting out into our local community through planned excursions and community activities that build on the children’s interests and educational outcomes.

Our Philosophy and Approach

We aim to provide an all-inclusive and warm service where our qualified educators and families are inspired to work collaboratively to provide a dynamic learning environment that ensures each child can reach their full potential.

Adopting a holistic and inclusive approach prepares a child for life-long learning. We achieve this by providing them with a learning journey that enriches their understanding of the world they live in, where they can explore their curiosity and creativity, connect to their environment, develop their self-reliance, and establish skills for life and learning.

Children learn best when the program reflects their interests and is meaningful and age-appropriate. Our educators provide a program that collaborates enquiry and project-based learning initiated by the children, the educators, families and our community.

At Shine Carlingford, children enjoy specialised programs provided by FunFit Kidz and Happy Feet Fitness; both programs are delivered by qualified specialists. The FunFit Kidz program develops fundamental motor skills that set the foundations for healthy movements in a child’s life. Happy Feet Fitness draws on movement and dance, the creativity of music, and the joy of active play.
